    Overview

    Title:  Volunteer Administrative Assistant

     

    Status: Volunteer (unpaid)

     

    Summary: Performs general administrative duties as a volunteer on a regular weekly basis. Schedule dependent on volunteer’s skillset and availability.  Role may be shared by more than one volunteer.

     

    Reports to:         Operations Manager

     

    Supervises:        NA

    THIS IS AN UNPAID VOLUNTEER POSITION.

    Responsibilities

     

    Duties/Responsibilities May Include:

    • Welcome/greet visitors to the office.
    • Answer phones and route calls or assist caller.
    • Manage mail opening and distribution of mail.
    • Manage office housekeeping functions (inventory and order office supplies, kitchen duty, mail duty, snack schedule, etc.)
    • Manage donor acknowledgement process (e.g., update donor database, mail donor acknowledgements, etc.)
    • Coordinate Board activity (e.g., arranging space and logistics for Board meetings, copying collateral material for each meeting, tracking Board giving, etc.)
    • Provide administrative and clerical support to all staff.
    • Print letters and labels for Patient Access projects.
    • Use postage machine.
    • Assist with IT functions for the chapter including troubleshooting, local technical support, etc.
    • Maintain a working knowledge of the LLS mission and programs to promote fundraising.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Education Required: High School degree.

     

    Position Requirements:

    • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
    • Strong MS Office Suite skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Knowledge of standard business machines and computers.
    • Professional and sound judgment.
    • Professional appearance and demeanor.

     

     

    Physical Demands & Work Environment:

    • Physical demands are minimal and typical of similar volunteer roles in comparable organizations.
    • Work environment is representative and typical of similar volunteer roles in comparable organizations.
