The Greater Sacramento Area Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society seeks a Campaign Assistant for the 2018 Students of the Year and Man & Woman of The Year campaign.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is the world's largest voluntary nonprofit health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research and providing education and patient services. The Students of the Year and Man & Woman of the Year campaigns fund LLS lifesaving research, new drug therapies and patient services for people battling blood cancer.

Basic Function:  Provides overall administrative support for diverse projects and events to support and enhance income production for the campaigns. This position reports to the Students of the Year and Man & Woman of the Year Campaign Managers.

Duties and Responsibilities – tasks will include (but are not limited to):

Provides comprehensive administrative support for Students of the Year and Man & Woman of the Year campaigns, with focus on Greater Sacramento Area Chapter.

Administers website updates, data entry, assigned communications, event logistics and coordination, etc.

Supports in the coordination of mailings, emails and any other communication with candidates and team members.

Maintains assigned office, program and event records, files and databases.

Maintains up-to-date information for weekly campaign newsletters.

Tracks and sends donor acknowledgement letters.

Prepares event-related correspondence and reports.

Recruits and oversees all day-of event volunteers.

Performs other related duties including on-site event assistance as assigned.

Position Requirements:

Computer proficiency and a working knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, Internet Explorer, and Social Media.

Comfortable working with databases; ability to learn new systems quickly.

Excellent organizational skills; highly detail-oriented with ability to multi-task and prioritize projects.

Above average communication skills: ability to communicate pleasantly and professionally by phone and strong business-writing skills required. Proficient in business English, spelling, punctuation and grammar.

Professional maturity and judgment.

Goal-oriented with a collaborative mindset open to teamwork.

Ability to work under timelines and pressure of multiple projects

Impeccable customer service skills

Experience working with volunteers and donors preferred.

Access to vehicle to attend meetings or events.

The Campaign Assistant position is a part time/temporary position beginning in February and ending in late May. It is an hourly paid position; 20-25 hours per week. Some after-hours and weekend work for event support is required. The Society offers competitive hourly wages. No benefits are offered thru LLS for this position, however optional benefits are offered thru a third party. The position is located in the LLS Greater Sacramento Area office near Sacramento State College.
