    Position Title: Development Intern (unpaid) - Georgia Chapter

    Reports To: Development Director

    The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) Georgia Chapter seeks an energetic and goal oriented Development Intern to work in our Atlanta office. This internship may be also be applied towards college credit. We offer a supportive, hands-on working environment where interns can learn new skills and enhance existing abilities. A work schedule of at least 15 hours per week is expected. Work hours are flexible to accommodate class schedules. This is a unique opportunity for anyone looking for professional development to support a great cause while gaining experience with major gifts fundraising, Annual Fund implementation, nonprofit administration and database management.

    Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Assist with database entry, administrative and office duties as assigned
    • Assist with Year End Appeal and/or Spring Appeal
    • Assist with donor and foundation prospecting efforts
    • Support Director with tracking moves management with donors
    • Assist with developing donor stewardship plans
    • Represent LLS and our mission professionally
    • Maintain a working knowledge of LLS’s mission and its programs
    • Perform other related duties as assigned

    Position Requirements:
    • Excellent customer service and communication skills
    • Previous volunteer management, customer service, and/or fundraising experience preferred
    • Outstanding phone skills
    • Excellent internet research skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Knowledge of MS Office suite products and standard business machines and computers
    • Professional maturity and judgment
    • Positive attitude and thrives in a team environment
    • Must be well organized, flexible, self-starter, and able to multi-task
    • Interest in special events planning, fundraising, non-profits, and marketing

    Time Requirements:
    • A minimum of one term or 3+ months
    • 15+ hours (negotiable with class schedule)
