The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is dedicated to a world without blood cancers and is looking for energetic, exciting people to join our Student Series campaign!  Student Series encourages students across the state to join in the fight against cancer by raising funds and awareness. We are looking for someone to support our schools by conducting goal-planning meetings, school-wide kickoff assemblies and provide administrative support at the office.  Will have set hours in office but must have flexibility to accommodate early morning or later afternoon school meetings. Some in-state travel (not overnight) required with mileage paid. No late nights, no weekends and enjoy most school holidays off!  Please note this is an hourly position without benefits.


    Performs diverse projects and activities for the chapter to support and enhance revenue generation in support of LLS’ mission.


    Reports to: Area Director and/or Campaign Manager, Student Series

    Supervises: NA


    Hours: Monday-Friday, negotiable between 20-40 hours/week

    Start Date: ASAP

    End Date: TBD - Position may continue through May 2018, pending job performance and campaign needs


    This is a temporary position.


    • Recruit schools for a Student Series campaign through phone and email.
    • Participate in weekly goal challenges (individual and team).
    • Perform administrative duties including shipping materials and mailings.
    • Conduct goal-planning meetings with teachers and/or student groups.
    • Present school-wide kickoff assemblies.
    • Call registered schools to confirm participation and offer support.
    • Maintain a working knowledge of the Student Series campaign and LLS.
    • Utilize Microsoft Office Suite applications to communicate and record notes (Outlook, Excel, Word).
    • Other duties as assigned.


    Position Requirements:

    • Flexibility to accommodate early morning or late afternoon meetings.
    • Willingness to travel within Indiana (mileage reimbursed).
    • Punctual and dependable.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word). Strong Microsoft Excel skills desired.
    • Ability to professionally represent LLS and its mission.
    • Capacity to confidently speak with educators regarding key messages and values of the campaign.
    • Vibrant personality that can speak in front of a group of children effectively.
    • Excellent communication skills and phone etiquette.
    • Outstanding interpersonal skills and team player.
    • Strong organizational skills.
    • Ability to listen, read the situation and react appropriately.
    • Energetic, confident, persistent, but not pushy.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team setting.
    • Creative thinker.
    • Customer service, sales experience, volunteerism and fund-development experience a plus.
    • Great attitude that is motivated by achieving goals.
    • Bachelors degree preferred.
