    Overview

    Summary:  Responsible for managing and implementing the Student Series campaign for the North Texas Chapter.  May also assist with other core event(s) to achieve and exceed revenue goals for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) in support of LLS’ mission, within the region and/or chapter's chartered area.

    The Campaign: The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Student Series campaign is a 3-week fundraising campaign conducted in schools across North Texas to see which school can raise the most money. While each school  conducts its own campaign, all schools are united by one goal: to learn leadership skills to raise funds to help blood cancer patients live longer and more fulfilling lives.

     

    Reports to:  Campaign Director or assigned staff

     

    Supervises:  May supervise assigned staff

    Responsibilities

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Recruit, oversee and manage fundraising schools. Alongside schools, develops fundraising goals and an executable plan for reaching those goals
    • Identify and cultivate top fundraiser schools
    • Monitor fundraising progress of participants to determine appropriate strategies to maximize fundraising
    • Provide input into the development of a strategic plan for the fundraising campaign(s), including fundraising goals, budget recommendations, vendors, volunteer goals, timelines, and location of events
    • Develop strong relationships with volunteers, sponsors & key corporate & community leaders to support growth of program
    • Identify and cultivate long term relationships with fundraising schools who have potential to make a significant impact on the LLS mission
    • Maintain accurate financial records and continuously evaluate statistical data for entire program; report and maintain accurate information on prospect development, revenue forecasts, conversion and stewardship activity; track income and expenses; facilitate comprehensive campaign records, evaluations and reports
    • Maintain clear and consistent communication with participants, volunteers and staff
    • Maintain a working knowledge of the LLS mission and its programs
    • Perform other related duties as assigned

    • Thorough understanding of school fundraising decision-making processes and culture
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities to meet critical deadlines
    • Team player dedicated to ensuring that the programs are projecting a professional, cohesive and collaborative image at all times

    Qualifications

    Education & Experience Requirements: 

    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • 2 – 4 years fundraising, communications, sales, or corporate development experience
    • 2+ years of proven success in event fundraising and in motivating volunteers to raise money

    • Professional Demeanor
    • Knowledge of MS Office Suite

    Physical Demands & Work Environment:

    • Physical demands are minimal and typical of similar jobs in comparable organizations
    • Work environment is representative and typical of similar jobs in comparable organizations
    • May be required to move Campaign materials weighing up to 15 pounds for various events.
    • Travel within the Chapter's designated area.
    • Required to work early mornings, evenings or weekends.

    • Prioritize Research Programs: Pro-actively direct Grant and TAP programs to address specific research gaps and medical needs.
    • Drive Advocacy & Policy Agenda: Develop a coordinated advocacy network and a robust internal policy capability that, together, can influence and educate key policy decision makers on priority access issues to break down barriers.
    • Maximize Patient Impact: Reach more patients and have greater impact through improved efficiency, urgency and effectiveness of support, education, and information delivery.
    • Increase Awareness: Raise LLS brand awareness and engagement to drive revenue & establish LLS as the leading cancer organization driving cures & access.
    • Improve Net Profitability: Maximize net income from existing channels through prioritization, organizational alignment and optimization of resources.
    • Diversify Revenue: Identify and develop high-growth, high-margin revenue opportunities focusing on volunteer initiatives, eRevenue, donor development and new partner development.
    • Enhance Organizational Performance: Assess resources, improve productivity and optimize organizational capacity.
